Arianna Occhipinti is one of the most influential winemakers in the natural wine movement. Her tireless research into soils, grapes and careful winemaking methods earned her the nickname “Natural Woman”.

Viticulture has a long tradition around the city of Vittoria, where Arianna Occhipinti lives and cultivates her wines. At the foot of the Iblei Mountains is their winery “Fossa di Lupo” - the wolf's cave, right on one of the oldest wine routes on the island, the Strada Provinciale 68. Their SP68 wines, which have now achieved international cult status, are named after this federal road enjoy.

Arianna now cultivates around 22 hectares of vineyards according to organic guidelines in the districts of Bombolieri, Pettineo and Bastonaca. The grape variety includes Frappato, Nero d'Avola as well as the white Zibbibo (Muscat d'Alexandria) and Albanello. Their greatest concern is to preserve the power and harmony of Nero D'Avola and the freshness and elegance of Frappato. Arianna appreciates that the properties of the two grape varieties harmonize wonderfully with each other, even though they are so different. She admires her strength and her ability to combine past and future. She also produces a wonderful Pantarei olive oil from an ancient olive grove in Chiaramonte Gulfi, continuing the tradition of her ancestors. By the way, anyone who thinks that Arianna and Giusto Occhipinti from Domaine COS are related is absolutely right: Giusto is her uncle.
