The Amoreau family, based in Libournais for over 400 years, runs the renowned Château le Puy in the style of organic, biodynamic and regenerative viticulture. A decade ago they acquired La Closerie Saint Roc as their second winery.

The Closerie, named after the "Roc de la Closerie", a historical place between Camp de la Hire and Monbadon, was a supply depot during the clashes between the English occupiers and French troops. Pascal Amoreau discovered the property ten years ago, renamed it and thus offered Adrien and Valérie Amoreau the opportunity to produce wine, supported by Harold Langlais.

The Closerie's 16 hectares extend over various plots of old vines, rooted in a terroir of clay, loam, silt and sand. The family has been practicing biodynamic farming since 1964 and has avoided using synthetic sprays and fertilizers since 1924. Agroforestry, biodiversity and permaculture are integral to their sustainable practices.

The wines of La Closerie Saint Roc are created in harmony with nature, without the use of barriques and with minimal intervention in the cellar. Since 1990, some wines have been made without sulfur. The 2016 and 2018 vintages are cuvées with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, characterized by transparency and freshness. The wines are timeless and are reminiscent of traditional winemaking over 100 years ago.
